About us
Longstanding manufacturer and supplier of machines
for thermal material cutting and welding units, MGM, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as MGM) is a well-known name in the Czech and European markets that needs no long introduction. Nevertheless, we briefly summarize the history and present of MGM. In 1991, Mr. Karel Mikulanda founded MGM. In 1995, a workplace was opened in Ostrava. A significant milestone in the company's history was 1998, when the decision was made to develop and manufacture its own CNC control system. Cutting machines are equipped with oxy-fuel or plasma technology according to customer requirements.
Through this, MGM became a supplier of machines to customers across Eastern Europe. Another notable milestone in the company's history was 2003. In that year, our company began supplying machines throughout Europe. MGM established a network of foreign representatives (Estonia, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Slovakia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Slovenia, Romania), which sell and service MGM cutting machines in Europe. Currently, MGM manufactures and supplies machines of its own design, including the control system.
Furthermore, we have developed and launched a new type of modern control system based on Soft-CNC with user-friendly software, providing our customers with numerous advantages. Our goal has been, is, and will continue to be to bring new technologies in the field of thermal metal cutting to our customers.
Our company has developed not only a new type of cutting machine for plasma cutting (ARROW series), but also machines for cutting with oxy-fuel or plasma, and for the use of other technologies (OMNICUT series).
The future that opened up to us in 2003, in addition to investments in development that ensure continuous improvement of our machines, also required the construction of a new building, which was completed on December 12, 2005. This enables us to enhance communication between the various centers of MGM, while also providing larger and modern production and storage facilities, as well as creating new conditions especially for the development and design departments, including spaces necessary not only for equipment testing but also for training both our employees and our customers.
At the same time, this has allowed us to develop new units and machines.
Among the units are, for example, a 3D plasma unit, a drill with automatic tool change, and equipment for plasma cutting of pipes and profiles. Among the new machines are, for example, a compact device for cutting with both oxy-fuel and plasma, with the option of installing a rotary axis for pipe cutting (PANTHER series). Along with further machine development, we have also developed a new control system, the MS 300.
We have also adopted and continue to develop the SAPSproW programming software in line with the new units.
